Meditation on the Saints
Rev. Karla Fredericksen
Leader: There are many noble,
gentle souls who have gone before
us in the way of faith.
People: Thanks be to God.
Leader: Teachers, pastors, parents and grandparents, family members, friends, have touched us by their faith, their love, their love of life.
People: We are greatly blessed.
Leader: Let us give witness to those who have upheld us in faith, and have passed into eternal bliss in the last year.

For all the Saints (O Waly Waly)
The Faith We Sing #2283
For all the saints
who’ve shone your love
in how they live,
and where they move,
for mindful women, caring men,
accept our gratitude, again.
For all the saints who loved your name, whose faith increased the savior’s fame,
who sang your songs and shared your word,
accept our gratitude, good Lord.
For all the saints who named your will,
and showed the kingdom coming still
through selfless protest, prayer, and praise,
accept the gratitude we raise.
Bless all whose will of name or love
reflects the grace of heaven above.
Though unacclaimed by earthly powers,
your life through theirs has hallowed ours.
Take note of the ways to give: Our time, our gifts and talents, our worship, our service in church and community, and our monetary gifts. Please remember the church in your giving. Take note of several venues to contribute without an offering plate being passed:
- checks sent to CUMC, P.O. Box 417, Chehalis, WA 98532.
- Cash, of course, would have to be brought to the church office (in an envelope, please) during office hours (T-W-Th, 10-1:00)
- On the DONATE page of this website find a link to our giving site, using a debit or credit card, or your own PayPal account.
- Bill-payer: Some prefer to use their own bank’s bill-payerand set an automatic monthly amount. (We like this one!)

We celebrated saints in the Sunday morning service, but will also have communion celebrating our own personal saints in the Evening Vespers Service.
In preparation for the Vespers be sure to find a few candles to have on hand (birthday size, votives, tapers, other – even electric!) These we will use for you to light in your own remembrance of “those who have gone before us.” Also don’t forget your own bread and beverage for the communion part. Zoom Link is below.

Charge Conference THIS week
Wednesday, November 4
Our District Superintendent will meet with the Church Council and any “visitors” on Nov. 4 ON ZOOM. If you want to attend, but do not have an adequate internet service/computer, etc. Please talk to Pastor Karla and we can arrange to get you connected at the church building.
We will attend to the general annual business of the church, including the election of officers, disciplinary questions about church finances and business practices, etc. You might ask the District Superintendent directly, the questions that you have about the Conference COVID-19 restrictions and phases, etc.
Zoom Link will be published on the church website OPENING/WELCOMING page, as soon as we receive it from the D.S.
Maybe next year…. the world will be such a place where we can have another wonderful gathering for all the churches of our area together like last year’s – together for a big meal and joint worship and Charge Conference!
Bible Study begins again
with Advent Study!
Wednesday, November 11, 6:30 PM – Just one more week to wait!
That is when we begin a new Advent Study by Adam Hamilton: The Incarnation (beginning Nov. 11). If you want your own copy of the book, you may buy one for $13.25 including shipping, etc. from Pastor Karla. They are “first come, first served” in the church office. Please leave payment as you pick up a book. Books may also be ordered through Cokesbury and other outlets, if we run out.
There are 5 weeks of lessons in the book. That’s why we are starting early (Advent actually begins on November 29). We won’t meet on Thanksgiving week, or on Dec. 23.
Here is the link to use to join the ZOOM class on an internet enabled device, smartphone or computer - https://greaternw.zoom.us/j/93573921173 - We will be able to screen share the video with Adam Hamilton, so calling in without video is not advised (though you could still hear the video).

This is an opportunity to see and hear other church people, share your joys and concerns, and pray together! This is sort of our way of replacing the coffee hour on Sundays! To join the chatter follow this link at 10:00 AM Tuesday THIS WEEK.
