Lift Every Voice and Sing (UM Hymnal #519)
Call to Worship
Led by Scott Knapp
You can follow the words to this call and the Opening Prayer, below this video window.
This is the space, and this is the time:
Here and now, God waits to break into our experience:
to change our minds,
to change our hearts,
to change our ways,
to help us see the world and the whole of life in a new light,
to fill us with hope, joy and certainty for the future.
Here and now, let us praise God,
Gracious God, Gentle Spirit, Christ Jesus:
We have come to worship today with all of who we are.
Some of us come joy-filled, hopeful and ready to celebrate.
We give thanks that you journey with us in our moments of joy.
Some of us come reflecting on struggles, sorrows, and dreams.
We give thanks that you accompany us in our struggles.
We come with different feelings, different thoughts, different joys,
different struggles, and many uncertainties,
and yet we have all come to this space in our own time
trusting you and ready to worship you. Amen.

Praise the Lord with the Sound of Trumpet – The Faith We Sing #2020
Words are just below the video window, if you don’t have a songbook.
Praise the Lord with the sound of trumpet,
praise the lord with the harp and lute,
praise the lord with the gentle-sounding flute.
praise the lord in the field and forest,
praise the lord in the city square,
praise the lord anytime and anywhere.
Praise the Lord in the wind and sunshine,
praise the Lord in the dark of night,
praise the Lord in the rain or snow or in the morning light,
praise the Lord in the deepest valley,
praise the Lord on the highest hill,
praise the Lord; never let your voice be still.
Praise the Lord with the crashing cymbal,
praise the Lord with the pipe and string,
praise the Lord with the joyful songs you sing.
Praise the Lord on a weekday morning,
praise the Lord on a Sunday noon,
praise the Lord by the light of sun or moon.
Praise the Lord in the time of sorrow,
praise the Lord in the time of joy,
praise the Lord every moment; nothing let your praise destroy.
Praise the Lord in the peace and quiet,
praise the Lord in the your work or play,
praise the Lord everywhere in every way!
Prayers of the People
The Lord’s Prayer
Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come; thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive our trespasses
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom, and the power and glory forever. Amen.

- checks sent to CUMC, P.O. Box 417, Chehalis, WA 98532.

- On the DONATE page find a link to our giving site, using a debit or credit card, or your own PayPal account.
- Bill-payer: Some prefer to use their own bank’s bill-payerand set an automatic monthly amount. (We like this one!)
A Prayer for the Offering by Pastor Karla
HERE’S Some Offertory Music:
Virtual choir is from 50 nations around the world.
When others reach out to us in love,
and we reach out to others,
we see you face to face, loving God.
As we see you in the faces of those who minister to and with us,
may we also see your face in those we are called to serve. Amen.
The Blessing (Australia)
(I like the many native scenes and backgrounds in this video)
God bless you and keep you.
May God’s face shine upon you.
God be gracious unto you.
The Lord turn his face toward you,
and give you peace. Amen.

New! REIMAGINING GROUP
Our first meeting was Saturday, July 11. We’ve begun plans for reopening in-person worship when the opportunity arrives. (That is, when the new cases of COVID-19 have subsided enough to be safe. So it is still months away.) Our conference has given guidelines and we need to fill in some of the details. We can look at this as our opportunity to be innovative and creative in our planning and implementing of a new kind of gathering! Prayers for God to guide us, are welcomed!
Do you hear what I hear?
Well, not yet, but the bells are warming up! Calling all bell players! Soon we’ll have bell solos, duets and trios recording especially for our worship services. If you fit that catagory, you should have gotten an email from Mary Dahlstrom inviting you to volunteer to help out. If you somehow missed it, contact her.
Listeners, get ready! Be watching our worship for some home-grown special music in the coming weeks.
