At Chehalis United Methodist we want active youth, growing in their faith and in healthy relationships with all generations!  Here are two programs that help youth to find their place.

Normally, Youth Group is an active, exciting, fun Sunday evening for forming ties that may last a lifetime.  We use games and fun activities and supply a safe place for young people to form relationships with other Christian youth and with adult mentors who care about them.  Youth group can be very important in the Christian formation of young adults who follow Christ’s way.

This Youth Group is a JOINT VENTURE between Chehalis UMC and FIRST UMC of CENTRALIA.  It usually meets on Sunday at 6:30-8:00 PM (with some exceptions.  See below).   Most of the meetings/activities are at CENTRALIA FIRST United Methodist, so unless it is an outing, that’s the place at 6:30 PM!  Get your cell number and/or email to Pastor Tom (text 388-6582) at CFUMC and get your weekly update on what’s happening.

Occasionally there is a special event that changes the TIME for the group, so check with Pastor Tom for more information.

(Background check is required for volunteers with youth.)

We have an outstanding music program at CUMC!bell choir

ANGEL BEATS – These are not just “older” kids, but those of any age and ability may give it a try!  This ensemble uses both chimes and hand bells.

We need more youth who will commit to the practice and performance times, to make this the best program we can offer!  Currently, we often have some adults playing some parts.  Rehearsals are on Monday evenings at 7:00 PM. in the upstairs Bell Choir rooms (off the main hallway to the sanctuary).  For more information contact Leslie Durham, the director.

Meet Leslie Durham

*CURRENTLY the ensemble is in recess until October – their last MARVELOUS performance was in May….  Interested persons are invited to think about it over and let Leslie know so that she can add you to the contact list for when practice resumes.  Leslie is currently on family leave, dealing with some issues with an aging parent.
