One:   Our Creator is the life-giver
All:    and we have been given life, to give life.
One:   Christ is the hope-birther
All:    and we are born of hope, for hopefulness.

Prayers of the People

          Rev. Karla Fredericksen

  The Lord’s Prayer

Our Father who art in heaven,
        hallowed be thy name.
        Thy kingdom come;
thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
        And forgive us our trespasses
As we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
        but deliver us from evil.
        For thine is the kingdom,
and the power and the glory forever.
        Amen.

NO Bible Study THIS WEEK!

There will be no more Wednesday Night Bible Study,
until November 11

That is when we begin a new Advent Study by Adam Hamilton:  The Incarnation (beginning Nov. 11). If you want your own copy of the book, you may buy one for $13.25 including shipping, etc. from Pastor Karla. They are “first come, first served” in the church office. Please leave payment as you pick up a book. Books may also be ordered through Cokesbury and other outlets, if we run out.

Here is the link to use to join the ZOOM class on an internet enabled device, smartphone or computer - https://greaternw.zoom.us/j/93573921173 - We will be able to screen share the video with Adam Hamilton, so calling in without video is not advised (though you could still hear the video).

Halloween Treats – DRIVE THRU

Saturday, October 31, 4:00-6:00 PM
In the Church Parking Lot

This Saturday we have a different way of doing Trunk-or-Treat! Please tell friends to drive through starting from the First Street entrance, and exiting at the E. Main entrance (Exit). We’ll have treat bags for every child. They can wear costumes if they like, but will stay in their cars. We’ll love seeing the costumes safely from there, and sending them on to pick up their treats! NO TRICKS, PLEASE!! (unless you can do it from your car.)

All Saints Sunday is Next
Sunday, November 1

We will celebrate saints in the Sunday morning service, but will also have communion celebrating our own personal saints in the Evening Vespers Service.

In preparation for the morning service – We will be naming members and close friends of the church who have passed away since last All Saints.  Please email names of any you believe should be included to Pastor Karla.

In preparation for the Vespers be sure to find a few candles to have on hand (birthday size, votives, tapers, other – even electric!)  These we will use for you to light in your own remembrance of “those who have gone before us.”  Also don’t forget your own bread and beverage for the communion part. Charge Conference
November 4

Our District Superintendent will meet with the Church Council and any “visitors” on Nov. 4 ON ZOOM. If you want to attend, but do not have an adequate internet service/computer, etc. Please talk to Pastor Karla and we can arrange to get you connected at the church building.

We will attend to the general annual business of the church, including the election of officers, disciplinary questions about church finances and business practices, etc. You might ask the District Superintendent directly, the questions that you have about the Conference COVID-19 restrictions and phases, etc.

Zoom Link will be published here and on the church website, as soon as we receive it from the D.S.

Maybe next year…. the world will be such a place where we can have another wonderful gathering for all the churches of our area together like last year’s – together for a big meal and joint worship and Charge Conference!

“Coffee Hour” – Tuesday 10:00 AM

This is an opportunity to see and hear other church people, share your joys and concerns, and pray together! This is sort of our way of replacing the coffee hour on Sundays! To join the chatter follow this link at 10:00 AM Tuesday THIS WEEK.
