Prayers of the People

Rev. Karla Fredericksen

      The Lord’s Prayer

Our Father who art in heaven,
            hallowed be thy name.
            Thy kingdom come;
thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
            And forgive us our trespasses
As we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
            but deliver us from evil.
            For thine is the kingdom,
and the power and the glory forever.
            Amen.

            On your own

You who represents all that is sacred to us:
We thank you for refreshing our spirits,

Now as we prepare to go from here,
may we remember your holy thoughts
and ways, and learn from you.  Amen.

Breathing Smoke …
Seeking Hope

a time of prayer, reflection, and praise

As wildfires rage, we add to our prayers yet another crisis. Our individual prayers are crucial, but our corporate prayers are needed, too.

On Sept 20 was a special service. Voices from across the Area led us through music, liturgy, and deep breaths amid the fire, smoke, ash, anxiety, and grief of this time.

You still have the opportunity to offer financial support to disaster response efforts, as you see images of our earlier commitments to be good stewards of the earth and our current efforts to love our neighbors.

The “Breathing Smoke…Seeking Hope” worship service is still available through YouTube. (click on the link)

PNW Annual Conference

Last week was our (virtual) Pacific Northwest Annual Conference of the UMC.
There will be a full report of what we experienced there. But, if you’d still like to read Bishop Elaine Stanovsky’s address(es):
These were posted prior to the virtual webinar-style conference, and are still there if you’d like to read them (click on the part you want to read here: )

(Don’t be afraid…) For alternative ways to join click the next link and read! Everyone can come, EVEN BY REGULAR LANDLINE PHONE!  More info: “COFFEE HOUR” POST  OH! and Hint: Bring your own coffee and/or snack!

Do you hear what I hear?

“Voices in Bronze”

Well, not yet, but the bells are warming up! Calling all bell players! Soon we’ll have bell solos, duets and trios recording especially for our worship services. If you fit that catagory, you should have gotten an email from Mary Dahlstrom inviting you to volunteer to help out. If you somehow missed it, contact her.

Listeners, get ready! Be watching our worship for some home-grown special music in the coming weeks.
