Prayers of the People

Rev. Karla Fredericksen

The Lord’s Prayer

Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name
Thy kingdom come; thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
            And forgive us our trespasses
As we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom, and the power and the glory forever.
            Amen.

Breathing Smoke …
Seeking Hope

a time of prayer, reflection, and praise

Sunday, September 20, at 4 p.m. Pacific time

As wildfires rage, we add to our prayers yet another crisis. Our individual prayers are crucial, but our corporate prayers are needed, too.

Join United Methodists from across the Greater Northwest Area in a time of prayer, reflection, and praise in online worship this Sunday, September 20, at 4 p.m.

Voices from across the Area will lead us through music, liturgy, and deep breaths amid the fire, smoke, ash, anxiety, and grief of this time. You will have the opportunity to offer financial support to disaster response efforts in each annual conference as you see images of our earlier commitments to be good stewards of the earth and our current efforts to love our neighbors.

The “Breathing Smoke…Seeking Hope” worship service will be available through YouTube premier and Facebook Live. Churches are encouraged to host watch parties on Facebook as the service is broadcast at the times listed above. The video will be available for later viewing, too.

Do you hear what I hear?

“Voices in Bronze”

Well, not yet, but the bells are warming up! Calling all bell players! Soon we’ll have bell solos, duets and trios recording especially for our worship services. If you fit that catagory, you should have gotten an email from Mary Dahlstrom inviting you to volunteer to help out. If you somehow missed it, contact her.

Listeners, get ready! Be watching our worship for some home-grown special music in the coming weeks.
